Attending an all-boys private school in New Zealand, Marco Alosio was groomed for a life on the rugby pitch.

So it was no surprise that the 23-year-old kept his acting dreams a closely-held secret.

While most of his peers aspired to represent the All Blacks, Marco longed for a career on the screen - something he has now achieved with a starring role in the big-budget mini-series, Fighting Season.

Standing at a strapping 185 cm, Marco would have been perfect for the All Blacks, but instead decided to follow his heart into acting.

And the risk has paid off, with the star landing a role in Fighting Season, which premieres on Foxtel's Showcase channel on October 28.

The drama revolves around Australian soldiers who return from Afghanistan and struggle with the emotional challenges of adjusting to life back home.
