    Agile handling and a beautiful interior complete the package. A 2.0-liter turbo engine is standard. The Q7 is very quiet, instilling a sense of tranquility. The ride is steady and controlled but has an underlying firmness. The optional air suspension gives the big SUV a plush ride. Handling is responsive and confidence-inspiring. The excellent first- and second-row seats are comfortable, but the third row is tight. A sleek dual-screen infotainment system looks initially daunting but turns out to be manageable after some practice. The SQ7 uses a 500-hp, 4.0-liter turbo V8. The Q8 is a sportier five-seat version of the Q7.

    Audi’s Q7 got a freshening for 2020. It exudes a premium ambience from the minute you open the hefty, substantial door.
    The swanky interior is festooned with leather, matte wood, brushed aluminum, and piano-black accents evoking a feeling of understated quality. The new turbo V6 engine provides effortless and quiet forward thrust, and the cabin is super hushed. Fuel economy stays the same at 20 mpg overall. Although the Q7 is a fairly large vehicle, it handles with an agility that instills confidence in corners. The ride has an underlying firmness but it’s steady and planted, and filters out bumps decently. The front- and second-row seats are comfortable, but the third-row seat is tight. The sleek dual display screens take time to master. Standard blind spot warning and rear cross traffic warning are new for 2021. For 2022, the 45 TFSI (2.0-liter turbo) and 55 TFSI (3.0-liter V6 turbo) Premium Plus get standard adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist.

    Audi's luxury three-row SUV is an impressive vehicle, and among the best we've ever tested. The redesigned Q7 employs a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 that is mated to a very smooth eight-speed automatic.
    This results in effortless acceleration and fuel economy of 20 mpg overall in our tests. The Q7 is very quiet, instilling a sense of tranquility. The ride has an underlying firmness unless you splurge on the Prestige trim and the optional air suspension, which makes it as plush as a luxury car. Handling is responsive and confidence-inspiring. The beautifully finished interior exudes luxury, with excellent seats and a vivid, high-tech digital instrument cluster. The controls prove logical with familiarity. Available advanced safety systems include automatic emergency braking and lane-keep assist.

    Audi's midsized luxury SUV shares components with the Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg, and offers a tight but serviceable third-row seat. The strong 350-hp, 4.2-liter V8 pulls smoothly, but returns just 15 mpg overall on premium fuel.
    A V6 is also available. Handling is fairly nimble, but doesn't shine at its limits. The ride is steady, though a little stiff at low speeds. Front-seat comfort is very good, interior fit and finish are excellent, and the cabin is quiet, but the MMI driver-interaction system is complex. A turbodiesel V6 was added in 2009, while both the V6 and V8 gas engines were replaced by a supercharged V6 in 2011.
