What’s this place all about?
Alcázar Fortress looks like a castle straight out of a fairytale, but it was actually once a medieval fortress. It was rebuilt in a different style following a fire and today, visitors can explore its many halls and secret passageways, museum, and military archives. You'll queue for tickets, but the wait—and small price of admission—is well worth it.

What’s it like being there?
Knights of shining armor, princesses in long gowns, towers overlooking the town square—well, you get the picture.

Is there a guide involved?
Guided tours are the best way to learn about the building's intricate details and spot all the secret passageways.

Who else is here?
Almost everyone that visits Segovia will make a visit to this picturesque castle. The aqueduct may be a calling card for the city, but this location offers far more to explore.

What will you remember most about your visit?
The interiors—they're marked by stained glass windows, polished knights of armor, lavish dining and dancing halls, and room after room with canopied beds.

All told, why should we plan a visit here?
Families will love it. Romantics will swoon. Historians will pump up their knowledge. Tourists will fill their memory cards to the brim. All in all, there's something for everyone here.
