Cabarrus Charter Academy Expanding and Adding High School

Enrollment is now open for 2016-2017 school year CONCORD, NC. (Jan. 29, 2016) –Cabarrus Charter Academy is expanding to include high school. A second building will open at 7550 Ruben Linker Road W. in Concord.

Enrollment is now open for 2016-2017 school year

CONCORD, NC. (Jan. 29, 2016) – Cabarrus Charter Academy is expanding to include high school. A second building will open at 7550 Ruben Linker Road W. in Concord. Applications are now accepted online for students in grades K-10 and information sessions are scheduled. Grades 11 and 12 will be added in subsequent years. Open enrollment runs through Feb. 4, 2016, but applications will continue to be accepted following open enrollment if seats are still available.

This school is a brand new, 69,892-square-foot, state-of-the-art building located on almost 23 acres approximately four miles south of Cabarrus Charter Academy. The general contractor is Ryan Companies. The building is designed to create an exciting academic environment that includes well-outfitted classrooms, a multi-purpose room that can be used as a cafeteria as well as a space for general assemblies and indoor recreational activities. The school will also have two science labs, computer labs, music rooms and art rooms. Advanced safety measures include a double-entry door security feature and security cameras throughout the interior and exterior of the building. Bright spacious interior hallways are designed for maximum traffic flow with minimal congestion. Students will enjoy a stand-alone gymnasium and outdoor amenities which include lighted football/soccer fields with concessions.

At capacity, the school will house 1,200 sixth through 12th grade students. Students will be accepted in grades K-5 at Cabarrus Charter Academy and 6-10 at Cabarrus Upper School with additional grades added in subsequent years. The school is governed by the North Carolina Charter Educational Foundation, a not-for-profit board that governs Langtree Charter Academy in Mooresville, Cabarrus Charter Academy in Concord and Kannapolis Charter Academy which will also be opening this year in Kannapolis on Concord Lake Road. The board has hired Charter Schools USA (CSUSA), one of the nation’s leading educational management organizations, to run the daily operations of the school.

This is one of six schools managed by Charter Schools USA (CSUSA) in the state of North Carolina.
