Birdetta, better known as Birdo, (known in Japan as Catherine), has been a presence in Nintendo games since 1988. She is a transgender girl, and is in descriptions listed as wanting to be called Birdetta. So why hasn't Nintendo given her the change that she's been wanting for almost 30 years? Nintendo would get positive press about it (and it's all about that media image) and trans people around the world would love to see this tiny step forward for progress, especially considering the disrespect against her in the past and how she is so many players' favorite characters, myself included. She should not be forced to go by her 'male' name anymore. Make 2015 the year of Birdetta!
