Cara Delevingne Reveals Exactly How She Grooms Her Brows

"Eyebrows" is probably the first word you think of when you hear Cara Delevingne's name. But they aren't the only reason the Brit model is so in demand—she epitomises fun and is always engaging in front of a camera, whether that's as a model or an actress. She's graced numerous major magazine covers (with five of those being Vogue) and has been the face of iconic brands such as Burberry and Chanel.

But that's not all. After taking a brief hiatus from modelling, or at least taking a step back, Delevingne appeared in numerous films such as Paper Towns and the most recent high-profile Suicide Squad, in which she starred alongside Margot Robbie. 

Currently, Delevingne is the face of British makeup brand Rimmel, and we had the chance to sit down with her and chat about those eyebrows (how could we not), find out what her favorite weird makeup trick is, and the number one thing she'd do to make her life easier. BYRDIE: What do you think about everyone being so obsessed with your brows?

CARA DELEVINGNE: It’s really sweet; I’m flattered. When I was a kid, I used to be really ashamed of them. I was always really scared of them because they’re really big [laughs]. So it’s really nice now, especially to inspire other girls to be comfortable with their own.

Byrdie: What’s your brow grooming routine?

CD: Trimming them and tweezing them myself, and using the Rimmel Brow This Way kit ($4).

Byrdie: What’s your signature London look?

CD: I just go for black jeans, a white tee, and a leather jacket. As for makeup, I always wear the Scandaleyes mascara ($6), and probably the Breathable Foundation ($8) if I’m looking tired. Oh, and bed hair and no shoes. 

Byrdie: What’s your best trick to making your eyelashes look long?

CD: I try to put conditioning stuff on my eyelashes. I’m lucky that I have long eyelashes, thanks to my family. But I use eyelash curlers and sometimes I’ll add a fake eyelash. But I always make sure I get every single hair when I do my mascara. Getting them perfectly spread out is key.

Byrdie: What are your tips for girls with fuller brows?

CD: Keep them as wild as possible and letting their natural shape go. As for filling them in, stick to the same shape, although of course, it all depends on your face shape.

Byrdie: If you could invent any makeup product, what would it be?

CD: I would like to invent makeup that stays on your face forever. I would like to tattoo all my makeup on, but I know that already exists. Really, I’d get it [tattoo makeup] if you could remove it, so if you wanted to it could still last forever.

Byrdie: What was your first-ever beauty product?

CD: It was probably a red lipstick that my mum left behind and I put it all over my face.

Byrdie: What’s the strangest beauty tip you’ve ever been given?

CD: Oooh, the strangest? Oh, I don’t know—using lipstick as blusher [laughs].
