Cillian Murphy and Sterling K. Brown were the definition of debonair during the 2024 Oscars ceremony. For the biggest night in Hollywood, the two gentlemen, who were nominated in the Best Actor in a Leading Role category, prepped for the event with red light therapy devices from celeb-favorite CurrentBody Skin.

Wait, what is red light therapy? And how can an LED face mask such as CurrentBody Skin’s improve your complexion? Dermatologists swear by the NASA-discovered light-emitting diode (LED) technology to improve skin tone, texture, and firmness. This skincare tool is so easy to use, fast-acting, and effective that Carey Mulligan and Halle Berry have even used the same CurrentBody Skin face mask to prep for previous Academy Award ceremonies. Talk about an A-list seal of approval!

As a beauty editor obsessed with achieving elusive flawless skin, I’ve personally been using this device for a year and can vouch for its efficacy. I love that it’s made from silicone, meaning it won’t harbor bacteria and just needs to be wiped down. Most of all, it includes everything necessary for a positive self-care experience, including a user-friendly control center, a long-lasting battery, four plugs to use the device abroad, and a dustbag for travel. Users will notice both short- and long-term benefits from using this nifty, pain-free tool.

Oppenheimer and Peaky Blinders stans were elated to see Murphy take home the big Leading Actor win Sunday night. Murphy worked with celebrity hairstylist and groomer Gareth Bromell to ensure he looked camera-ready for such a monumental evening.

“My inspiration for Cillian’s look is Cillian himself — and all the aspects that make him the man he is,” says Bromell. “Actor, husband, father, Irishman — like all of us, he is multifaceted. Rugged yet refined. Grounded yet playful. Just like Ireland itself. Quintessentially Irish. His look is traditionally classic but elevated. Polished and masculine. The road to the Oscars is long and arduous and we all can pay the price, especially our skin. So, good skin care and some added help are essential. We relied on Sisley and CurrentBody Skin to help soothe and restore Cillian’s natural complexion,” explains Bromell.

He also appreciates the clinically proven results and patented Pillow Technology that ensures the 132 high-quality LED bulbs are effective and evenly distributed across the face. “It’s also backed by professional dermatologists which means I can trust it and my clients can, too,” he says.

Murphy has donned the CurrentBody Skin LED Face Mask throughout award season, including ahead of the Golden Globes. “For Cillian, grooming on the red carpet is about achieving an effortless yet rugged appeal, focusing on a cool undone hairstyle to complement his cool, timeless style. His skin will have a youthful glow,” Bromell said during the January award show.

Bromell also used the Best Tested Dyson Supersonic hairdryer, a personal favorite and a must-have for many celebrity hairstylists. “Cillian has the best hair, so we always work to enhance his natural texture and body to frame his strong, angular face. I used Dyson’s Supersonic Dryer to create body and frame his face,” adds Bromell.

Brown looked fresh-faced as he celebrated his first-ever Oscar nomination for his portrayal of plastic surgeon Clifford Ellison in American Fiction. His grooming secret was a combination of his favorite CurrentBody Skin and Le Domaine Skincare by Brad Pitt products. (Lupita Nyong’o is also a major fan of Pitt’s antioxidant-rich skincare products.)

For Sunday evening, Brown tapped celebrity makeup artist Kathy Santiago who highlights Brown's commitment to his skincare routine. “I strive to make him look very classic,” says Santiago. “Sterling has a very strict regimen that entails cleansing, toning, serum, and moisturizing daily. He’s been using the CurrentBody Skin LED Light Therapy Mask for a few years — he has one and I have one that I keep for him when I’m getting him ready,” she says.

As you can imagine, Oscars prep day is incredibly fast-paced, so Santiago applied depuffing undereye patches that plump, hydrate, and minimize fine lines, and the CurrentBody Skin LED Eye Perfector. “Sometimes in men’s grooming, your time is cut in half. What’s great about the eye mask is when you are pressed for time, you still get a treatment even when you don’t have the full 10 minutes. The LED really gives the patches a boost,” explains Santiago.

After treating the delicate undereye area, Santiago applied Le Domaine The Serum, followed by Le Domaine The Cream. “Sterling uses Le Domaine regularly, so I use it as part of my prep for him,” says Santiago. “The serum is super-light and gives an overall smoothness to the skin with a much healthier, glowier look. The skin’s luminosity and texture just look better with it. I tried it on myself first and was really impressed with it, and then gave it to Sterling and he loves it.”

Santiago concludes that shine is a typical skincare concern for men on the red carpet, but Le Domaine delivers a natural healthy glow without looking like a greasy mess, something many of us with oily and combination skin types can relate to. “There’s a fine line between healthy and shiny. So when you are putting moisturizer on under makeup, you want to be sure there is balance. He’s walking down the red carpet, jumping around from interview to interview, and dealing with different lighting, so I’m trying to keep him neutral and balanced. Le Domaine really helps with maintaining that balance," gushes Santiago.

As a beauty editor, I’m exposed to new releases and brands launched by celebrities. Le Domaine is one of my all-time favorite celebrity beauty brands! Although some of my peers initially gave Brad Pitt flack for creating a skincare line — partially from celeb beauty brand fatigue — I can honestly say all of the Le Domaine products do an excellent job of moisturizing and improving the overall quality of my skin over time. The products are made with wine-making grapes in Provence, France. Grapes are a fantastic natural beauty ingredient that's rich in antioxidants that prevent skin damage.

And arguably the best part about Le Domaine? When you order from Amazon, you can achieve the red carpet treatment at home in just 48 hours thanks to the retailer’s signature two-day Prime Shipping.
