I got a 4pck of this beer from my local Giant Eagle store. It poured an opaque dark with thin tan ring head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had cocoa and red pepper spice. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with chocolate and red pepper presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

12oz canned 11.17.2021 (about 3 months ago) poured into a Xocoveza chalice at fridge temp 7.7% ABV. The beer pours black with no light penetration and light brown head. The head recedes to a thin ring and single layer of tiny bubbles. Sparce lacing. The aroma is mild with pepper heat and lactose. The taste is semisweet, pepper laced, roasted malt. I'm not getting a ton of chocolate or vanilla, but it's there in the background. Nice pepper and cinnamon heat. The mouthfeel is medium plus bodied with average carbonation and a semi dry finish. Overall, very good. Reminds me of old school Xocoveza, which is not a bad thing.

A stout from Madtree that reminds me of a lesser version of Stone Xocovesana as the same elements are featured: dark body, creamy mouthfeel, cacao, vanilla, lactose and hot pepper. Hopped with chinook, and it plays well with the myriad malts used.

This beer says it’s using cayenne, but I got no strong pepper flavor. Like its Stone counterpart, the beer gets the cacao flavor right. I hate one can reviews and would love to try it on tap, hoping the flavors would pop. Worth a shot as perhaps your taste buds are better suited.

Look - Super dark black brown with a good tan head and sticky tan lacing
Smell - sweet cocoa caramel cinnamen scents with a slight spice. some vanilla hiding in the scents way back there.
Taste - cocoa, cinnamen, vanilla, peppers, goodnees
Feel - Medium body light carbonation, slight creamy
Overall - REally fantastic beer. On nitro is even creamier and better in my opinion.

¡Ahuevo! is a Mexican hot chocolate inspired stout with cacao, peppers, vanilla, cinnamon and lactose. If youre a fan of Stone's Xocoveza, you'll enjoy this. Its a nice winter beer, super warming. The peppers are there but not super pronounced which is a good thing. I pick up mostly chocolate and cinnamon. It comes in at 7.6% and that feels about right for this beer. All-in-all, it's a nicely balanced offering that could end up making for a tasty barrel-aged treat down the line.
