María Jesús Pagés Madrigal is a young dancer who was born in Sevilla in 1963 and at the age of four was already learning how to dance in Manolo Marín´s academy in Triana In the same neighbourhood she passed on into the hands of Matilde Coral and Rafael el Negro until achieving her title as Teacher of Spanish Dance with an outstanding grade She has danced solo for María Rosa and Rafael Aguilar company´s, with which she has performed in Japan and Europe She has also worked for Antonio Gades in the shows Carmen and Bodas de sangre and on her own created the production Diquela de la Alhambra and Sol y sombra Later she took advantage of the Biennials in Sevilla to present other great successes such as De la luna al viento, El perro andaluz, Burlerías and La tirana She was the director of the Andalucian of Dance Centre, which confirms that María Pagés is one of the most important young dancers in the flamenco panorama
