I had surgery so I could not return on time but it does not play on my Saturn. Only the audio box comes up. Disappointed.

Virtua Cop 2 is a Sega Saturn exclusive game that simply put, " will rock your socks off! " First off I know it's probably not normal to be reviewing VC2 before VC1, but I'm a strange guy. I also bought Panzer Dragoon Zwei 2, and Clockwork Knight 2 before their predecessors. ( I told you I'm strange ) But if #2 is a great game, you know #1 has to be great also. VC2 was an arcade game released in 1995, and then was ported to the good ol' Sega Saturn in 1996. There are only four levels in the game, but they are long and involved levels. Virtua Cop 2 is an on-rail shooter with predetermined paths that you follow while battling the bad guys, finding power-ups, and saving the city that you're sworn to serve and protect. You also have three characters to choose from. There's Michael Hardy ( Rage ), and James Cool ( Smarty ). Both cops were in the first game installment. ( VC1 ) Then there's the new female cop, Janet Marshall ( Janet ) As far as I can tell they all play about the same, but each have a different back story that can be read in the game's instruction booklet. Once again you're fighting the gang, E.V.I.L. Inc, ( oooooh ) and they're back and they're bad. I really like the way they set the game up. Instead of at the options menu having difficulty levels to choose from, each individual stage has a different difficulty. Stage #1: Beginner. You interrupt a jewel robbery, and then chase down the bad guys in a hot pursuit car-chase blast fest. Stage #2: Medium hard. It's your job to rescue the Mayer of Virtua City ( Original name, NOT! ) In this level the baddies attack from the sky using jet-packs. Stage #3: Expert difficulty. This time you're battling in the bowels of Virtua City's ( Aaarrugghh lose the name! ) subway system. And then there's the Final Stage. In stage #4 you battle E.V.I. L. Inc main Boss, a bad ass with a grudge against you. The first three levels also have an end boss you must beat before moving on to the next stage. There is also a Combat Training Simulator level to hone your skills on, this helps you to shoot only the bad guys, and not to hit innocent bystanders in a hostile urban environment. I should also mention if you shoot innocent bystanders you lose a life on your meter. ( bummer ) The voice overs are very cheesy, ( I love cheesy ) and the sound F/X are top notch too! The graphics are great for the day, and it looks and playes just like the arcade version. ( cool! ) I played it again a few weeks ago and forgot how tired your arm gets after shooting your light gun for an hour, and how much fun playing this awesome game really is! Should this be in your Sega Saturn library? Absolutely! No SS collection could ever be considered complete without Virtua Cop 2 in it. " Happy Shooting "

Does not replace virtua cop one but adds a lot to the experience! Level two's ending is...wow! Drink lots espresso before playing to be able to keep up. Check out the Dreamcast version too.
