Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Seven years after the end of the devastating One Year War.... The victorious Earth Federation has become corrupt and oppressive, and the elite Titans police force has taken on dictatorial powers. As the A.E.U.G. rebel group struggles to defeat the Titans, the heroes and villains of the original Mobile Suit Gundam series find themselves on the same side of this new conflict. The focus, however, is on a new hero named Kamille Bidan, the pilot of the transforming Zeta Gundam.

Features:

  • 31 new mobile suits
  • Choose your allegiance--play as a member of the A.E.U.G. or Titans
  • Transform your mobile suit into its mobile armor form
  • Two vs. two team battles

If anyone has ever played Gundam: Federation vs. Zeon, then Gundam vs. Zeta is the game for you. The title kind of throws you off but the gameplay and 3rd person view says it all. I'll list some differences between both games from my point of view. When I put "Character", it means a hero/heroine from both good and/or evil side such as Amuro + Char

DIFFERENCES
(Will say and start with Gundam vs. Zeta then Fed vs. Zeon. Detailed changes are listed below as #(number)+(plus sign))
-In Arcade and Campaign mode, "Character" voices
1+: In Gundam vs Zeta, "Character" voices are always enabled, even if two human players play or if enemy "Character" spawns. In Fed vs. Zeon, voices were disabled unless you played solo (only in Arcade as a "Character", in Campaign, you were a 3rd party pilot who is in the war and can only hear "Character" voices during the battle, your pilot does not talk at all)
2+: This is only in Gundam vs. Zeta, ALL "Character"s have the same 3 special ability you pick during the loading screen for the mission (only can choose one and activates manually in battle once the yellow bar is fully charged/flashing)
-Campaign Mode
1+: In Gundam vs. Zeta, Play a "Character" to unlock another "Character" story, actions made during the game can change story. You could also customize the mobile suits to make it a bit easier in missions. In Fed vs. Zeon, you are a 3rd party pilot during "The One Year War" throughout the whole game. Choices you make earn you different mobile suits.
2+: In Gundam vs Zeta, your "Character" against the enemy "Character" is a fair fight. The damage you do and receive are about the same when you do it to the enemy "Character". In Fed vs. Zeon, if there was a "Character" on the enemy side, their bullets and beam damage rips you apart; usually 1 to 3 hits to kill your mobile suit (Depending on enemy "Character" mobile suit, Gundam itself WILL survive a lot longer then using a normal mobile suit.) Your attacks against the enemy "Character" virtually does nothing (barely noticeable damage) unless your using Gundam, still takes awhile to take them down though and majority of the times, they retreat after sometime in the battle
3+: In Gundam vs Zeta, there is no such thing as repairing your mobile suit after a mission, it starts back at full health when you start a new mission. In Fed vs. Zeon, your mobile suits have a life bar; depending on how much damage you have received, how many missions you have completed, and the mobile suit your using, will effect repair (If you use Gundam, even if you take ZERO damage, the health bar is in red range meaning you can't use Gundam and it takes forever to repair)
-More mobile armors/giant suits in Gundam vs. Zeta.
1+: Only in Gundam vs. Zeta, some mobile suits can switch to their flying mode such as Zeta Gundam, but it only lasts until BOOST gauge is drained all the way, then you change back to human form
-The Power Gauge (The Red/Blue bar that drains on death)
1+: In Gundam vs. Zeta, if you use Gundam and die, it drains 1/2 the gauge. In Fed vs. Zeon, Gundam drains about 2/3 of the gauge. Of course some missions end if you die on your mobile suit.

It is more balanced in Gundam vs. Zeta, which is understandable since it is a better version. I love it and still play it today. The only thing that is disappointing to me is that some mobile suits have problems such as the Hyaku Skiki (when you move the mobile suit around, it moves on a angle, not the whole body facing front), and the Zeta Gundam/Gundam Mk 2 (the mobile suits don't walk, they hover, in the series and in reality, most mobile suits are walking instead of hovering).

This game takes me way back to my childhood. I definitely give it a 4.5/5 stars. I’d give it 5 if the seller was able to provide an actual case. No big deal though, disc is in great shape!

First off, this game is obviously a sequel to gundam FVZ, by the name at least. after playing it a bit i realized as much, it has some minor tweaks to the grafics and transformable mobile suits. there are 72 mobile suits and all the original mobile armors. the space combat has only slightly improved, though barely noticeable over FVZ, and is still considerably worse than gundam Encounters in space. it's story mode plays out the story of the original gundam and zeta gundam, with a twist, you can change the outcome of the game by completeing the hard missions in a special way. most of these just cause a pilot thast normally dies to live making a story branch off. all in all if you liked gundam: federation vs zeon, you'll like gundam gundam vs zeta gundam.

This is where I do the compliment sandwich, where I say something nice, then something that can be improved upon, then something good again. Let's see, there are a lot of mobile suits. That's good. Now for the bad, this game is so easy to play that I left the game unpaused and my cat swating at the control pad was able to hold her own. The graphics are not horrible though. Bandai gets away with making crappy gundam game after crappy gundam game because the fans have come to expect it, and for hardcore fans we feel we need an outlet to express our love of Gundams. However, this game is too much. As far as giant robot games go, there are far better ones on the market. And as for getting that gundam fix, their is always the dvds and the model kits. I guess my conclusion would have to be thatif you are getting this for a child under 13, the ease of gameplay would be a good thing. A child would probably have fun with this for awhile. For someone with all of their motor skills, look some place else for your gundam/giant robot fix. And maybe, just maybe if no one buys this game, Bandai will realize that just because a game has the word Gundam in the title doen't mean people will spend $40-50 on it. Then maybe they will actually make a decent Gundam game on their next attempt.

Now that gundam is nearly as popular as pokemon. Id like to see more gundam beat em ups like this, with idk 20 seasons over the last decade & 500 more suits
Id like to see more like this.
Not to be confused for
Journey to jaburo
Crossfire
No. NO. Those games sucked.

Cons with game
Small maps
Cheating AI
The leveling up goes slow
Slightly worse

Recommended for Mobile Suit fans, specifically those who prefer UC. It is great for being able to blow up everything you see, and the ability to rewrite some of the more lackluster moments of Zeta Gundam with the main storyline. As you advance through the game you can unlock suits from previous and later shows. Furthermore there are virtually no named characters from the show that don't have their own story line in Universal Century mode. It is one of those games that you either hate or don't put down for the better part of two weeks.

This game is completely similar to its previous game, "Federation vs Zeon." You choose either arcade or campaign mode and you play as either the AEUG or the TITANS. The story as always, is very limited when you play arcade, so you may have to play and beat campaign mode, which takes forever as usual.

But the main point of the game is to have fun, even though it maybe a lot like the previous game. The addition to the game is its extra features gallery and new Ms's to pilot from the Zeta Gundam series.

One of the things I liked about this game was that there were multiple timelines for many of the characters (including some interesting "secret" ones) based upon how certain key events from the featured Gundam series played out.
