Works exactly as described, but just a heads-up for anyone wanting to purchase this and use it for PSX (PS1) games on the PS2, it will work, BUT WITH A CAVEAT! If your PS2 is a slim model, and your model number is 9000 or higher (check the bottom of the console for the label, it will say), this WILL NOT WORK! Sony put some kind of update in their later models of PS2 that recognizes and disables the use of all Gamesharks/memory injector software made prior to those systems. So aside from that, it works just like it should.

It is what I needed but not what I was expecting. It appears Sony changed their systems over the years between PS1 model 1 (had a serial slot in the back), PS1 model 2 (serial slot removed), and PS1 model 3 (aka PSone). For the record, this gameshark works for the second gray PS1 and is not functional on the PS2 like some of the latter discs are. But I did test it on a friends old PS1 and it works flawlessly. Just research the different gameshark CD versions because they're more than just code updates.
