As an avid Monty Python zealot, Cleese's hotel rendition of every Python film, including the "Castle Anthrax" scene from the Holy Grail, Basil lives in dire fear of the wrath and verbal castration by his wife. The physical humor combined with the linguistic chicanery from homesick Manuel, struggling to learn English, guitar, his rat, and longing for Barcelona make all of the episodes worth a rerun to see the comedy you missed the first time around. The "marriage party" is one of the best.

One star is too many
Bought as a gift, by the time it came to sit and watch was past the return window. Menu loaded find but would never load ANY episodes on ANY DVD on ANY player.
Very dissatisfied and disappointed

A lot of people that I have seen review this product complain about the image quality and/or the screen menus for the disc set... But considering how old the actual product is I think the restoration of the images was done pretty well all things considered and I didn't have any trouble with getting the disc set to function. There are a few frames where the lighting is a little weird when people are moving around on screen or there is an edge of the image that's a bit fuzzier than the rest of the image, but nothing that's too dramatic or distracting. All things considered I think this product is well worth the money and makes for an excellent Christmas gift.

I missed seeing that the seller was in Europe and that their DVD product might be in the European format -- thus incompatible with my DVD player. When it came and failed in my player, they were quick to respond how to return the product to a US destination and receive a full refund. Just received my refund. Thank you seller.

Okay, so it's a blu-ray. These are generally region free. This one came from Castle Donington UK. And it works on my player in the US. To anyone having trouble with the default to Audio Description, simply don't hit enter when it tells you. Wait and it will revert to the normal main menu. I thought this was a defective disc until I did this. Of course the show is one of the best in television history!

This is a review of the 2nd, replacement Bluray for the first received earlier this week that did not function. It will be a short review ... it too doesn't work. You can not advance to the Episodes from the Menu. RETURN!!

Show is funny. Better than I thought. Definate buy!

I own several 60s British TV Series box sets in DVD and Bluray. And most Bluray editions are remarkable - as crisp as if they were shot yesterday. This is definitely not the case. I A/B'ed them (Bluray vs. DVD) and they look quite similar, as if the source for the Bluray was the actual DVD.
In fact, maybe the original tapes were not that clear and that's why there is not such definition in the image.
Although I expected a more defined image, colours and image are slightly better than the DVD edition.
Definitely, not a great improvement over the DVD edition. It seems more like a cash-in initiative than a proper Bluray transfer.
I wouldn't buy it again.

I liked watching this TV series, the only minuses are that the Special Features are exactly the same as the previous DVD release from years ago and the episodes are unconverted to HD!
