Love love love this game. No question about it.

However, my star ratings only apply to the game. The seller was wonderful (to some degree). The game was shipped to me in just a few days, and it even made it to my home a day before it was estimated I should have first expected it, so I'm happy with the speedy delivery. My only problem is that I do believe I recall the seller advertised that the game came with a manual (which it didn't) and that the seller would also ship an extra game of their choice (which they didn't). That was alright with me, though, seeing as I'm super happy with the game, but other people may have felt let down by that.

Now for the game: When your character is walking around (not in battle), the graphics are 2D, just made of pixels (which some may not care for, but I think it's really cute -- similar to Pokemon games on the Game Boy). When in battle, the graphics are 3D, though, because the system is a PSone, it's very... awful 3D. I didn't mind this, as it's an old game, an old system, but still great gameplay, which is ultimately what I strive for in a game.

If you appreciate gameplay over graphics and love retro gaming, this is DEFINITELY a buy for you. Stop reading this review. Go to the main page of this game. Click "add to cart". Wait. Enjoy.

Although it doesn't have as good graphics as the first and second Digimon World games it makes up for it's predecessors faults. For starters this is more of a traditional RPG game, there aren't things like magnetic fields and boulders blocking your path, but some areas require the assistance of either Submarimon or Digmon to reach.True you run back and forth a lot,but even your more recent RPG's require you to visit places you've been to before. You start off with three partner digimon and have the ability to get all of the partner digimon later on in the game. There are also card battles-a reference to Digimon Tamers which had ended recently in Japan and some of the Jogress evolutions are a reference to the new series at the time:Digimon Frontier. The only thing that is wrong with this game is the fact that the post-ending portions of the game that were in the Japanese version have been taken out,so once the credits roll your game is done.If you want to continue you have to start again from the beginning. This is also the last Digimon game that Bandai produced before it's merger with Namco. It was a foolish decision-They haven't localized a digimon game in 4 years, even though there are 3(soon to be 4)games that were released in Japan but not here.

A very good game that I find really engaging. While the story's a little similar to another series, it adds its own twist(s) to help it stand out. Also, as good as it is, there's one thing I wish was different; how they handled the Digvolution charts. I wish there was more, true variety to them, with each partner having at least one Digivolution path (such as their main) unique to themselves, rather than every Digimon eventually sharing each other's Digivolution lines. Still, apart from that, you can't really go wrong with this one. I just wish more games in the main Digimon World series shared, and even refined this one's approach; but alas, it's back to the pet raising sim like the first game from what I hear. To each their own, I suppose.

After receiving this I was able to relive some childhood memories since my original copy from years ago had scratches and no longer allowed you to play past the first few parts of the game. Being able to play the game to completion again was very enjoyable.

this game was awesome when i was a kid and i still find the concept fun. it is a rare and valuable video game as well and well worth buying it.

the only problem was this seller i used gave me an acceptable disk when he claimed it was good condition. i cant watch the opening scene without the game freezing. shame. i hope as i get farther more things dont go bad.

I absolutely LOVE this game and that's why it gets five stars. However, the person I bought it from on Amazon sent me a faulty disk with scratches hardly noticeable. I originally bought it because my first disk wouldn't load in certain areas; the same thing happened on the second disk. So I take both of them in and, low and behold, the second disk is in worse condition than the first. So, just a word of caution, be careful when purchasing this game from others. If you get a great disk, I'm hoping you love the game. This is, personally, a big portion of my childhood. (:

Great game very hard to find worth its weight in gold in my opinion. Game is an Rpg style game where your character fight 1v1 with enemies etc. This game has some new digimon, most of the ones from the tv shows Seasons 1-3, I have not finished the game yet but I like they story and it is a lot of fun. If your a Digimon fan I am sure you will like this game
