I grew up with this game along side Age of Empires 2 and I remember that, at first, I hated it simply because I couldn't figure it out. But, as I matured a bit and actually began to understand concepts like game-theory and the economy it blossomed into one of my favorites. I re-purchased the game because, well, though I grew up with it the game belonged to my brother and when he moved out he took it with him.
Working on my PhD I don't often have time for gaming but the turn based style of play and the vast scope it allows me to enjoy a little more of it whenever I have the time.
I guess I will need to get Civ 6 instead. I've heard you need to have steam to run it. Only down side to steam is that it slows down your machine. I have a screaming fast machine running Ryzen 7 with 32gb ram and a digital HD. Love how it only takes seconds to boot up. Down side doesn't run many of the old school programs.
