Give me a break! These prices are insane.
I have a Jaguar CD, and it is in mint condition.
I wouldn't sell it for these prices (I can't imagine anyone buying it for these prices, either, even the most hardcore in the Jag homebrew scene).
Yes, only 20,000 were made. Yes, it is a collectable. Yes, only collectors would be interested in this.
This, IMO, is price gouging. Good luck moving this hardware

I am going to try to emphasize the qualities (good, bad & ugly) this CD unit has to give you--the reader--a better understanding of the love/hate attitude people have for it. First, The Look: The Good-- The unit fits so snuggly unto the console that anyone that dosen't know better would think that this was designed as one part, not two. The Bad-- When you attach this unit to the main console it will make a sick, loud SNAP! noise that will give you a flashback to that horrible day in your childhood when you accidentally broke your favorite toy. I strongly suggest you attatch this thing on once and NEVER remove it again! The Ugly-- This unit (with the disk lid up) looks like...well---a toilet bowl with the seat half way up!
Second, The Guts: The Good-- This unit plays standard music CD's as well as Jaguar CD games. The unit also generates a beautiful light show on your TV screen to go with your music. If you enjoy a kalidescope of color and shapes with your music then you'll enjoy the Jaguar CD unit. The Bad-- Like the original Jaguar console, the CD unit's cartridge port dosen't have a cover on it to help prevent dust particle exposure. To counter the problem, most people leave a cartridge lightly(not forcefully pressed) resting in the port. The Ugly-- There aren't very many games for the CD unit to play. If you can find a couple of games for the Jaguar CD that you can't find on any other system and you really like them--then buy one!

This is price gouging. I was there back then, the system is not that great due to the company pulling the plug. It is only rare because no one bought it, same thing with the core system, I would like to replay Bruce Lee, Enter The Dragon, exclusive to this system, but the system itself is price gouging, 250 bucks.

With the Jaguar all but dead, Atari finally released their much promised Jaguar CD add-on, but only a small handfull of games were ever released. The add-on itself was pretty much all that the previous reviewer stated: surprisingly speedy loading times and basically very trouble free. However, what makes a system worth playing is the games that are released for it, and only half of the handfull of games released for the Jaguar CD were any good. It's a shame that the Jaguar tanked when it did, because there was so much potential for the system, and especially it's CD add-on, that went to waste and led to Atari taking their final bow. Below is a list of the best games to be released for the Jaguar CD:

Battlemorph

Iron Soldier 2

Dragon's Lair

Myst

Hoverstrike

Highlander

As most Jaguar fans know, the Jaguar was all but a raging sucsess. In 1995 Atari released the promised Jaguar CD attachment. But by then it was too late, Atari's 64bit power house fell under with only less than 80 games. The CD attachment a fits perfectly ontop of the jaguar. It has twice the speed of the Playstation, a has virtually no loading time. Some of the games can be worth the while. Battlemorph is an extremely addictive 3D flight simulator that allows to even go under water! With no loading time! Other good games are Myst, Hoverstrike and Iron Soldier II. The Jaguar CD even has a cartirage spot for games, so you don't even have to disconnect the CD unit to play cartirage games. Sure the jaguar may not have been a sucsess but I find it endearing and I love the Jaguar CD.
