Great fun game! Quality Mac shooter from early 2000s. I used to own this game and after getting back into retro gaming, i bought this and this game is just as exciting, intense and fun as I remember it. It plays well on my iMac G3 SE 600MHz 1GB RAM 16MB Rage 128Ultra running Mac OS X 10.4.11 Tiger.

The game features both single player and multiplayer game modes.

I mainly play the single player game and it is fun as heck, kinda like being in an Aliens movie. The graphics are pretty good and the sound and ambiance is nerving racking and adds to the enjoyment and realism of the game.

Definitely play this game with a multi button mouse for full enjoyment.

You can customize the controls in the game.

I can bump the game up to near Max in terms of graphics on this game and it still plays smooth! I am on a iMac G3 600Mhz, and i guess using MacOSX 10.4.11 Tiger with optimized drivers help and also because I have 1 GB RAM.

If you own a PowerPC G3/G4/G5 and love shooters and are a Aliens fan or a Predator fan-- definitely pick this game up.

I got it used for $7.99 and it is worth it.

This is a great game to add to your Mac Retro Gaming Library!

Just remember to download the 1.09 Patch for the game.

You may think that FPS (first person shooters) can't possibly be scary. This game takes that and all other comments against the fear a game can create, and lets an Alien tear it to shreads. When I say that this game is freaky, I dont fool around. For the three species you play, (human-marine, Xenomorph-Alien and the ever scary Preadator), you feel the fear that is incorporated with the fool you play. As a marine, you tangle with cloaked Preds (preadator) and Aliens poping out of nowhere. As an alien, you try to survive a downpour of bullets and are only rewarded with a very hard to kill Pred. And as the overspecalized hunter, you find that aliens are on you in a split second and marines can riddle your carcase with lead faster than that. The biggest frea factor is that all the enemies are places and apear randomly with very fiew exeptions. The only problem is that there are no times where you are with others in a group. As the marine, you are alone with no other help from other marines. And like the marine, an Alien is in the center of it's hive with not even a facehugger to keep you company. (BTW, preds always hunt alone ;p ) Take that away and you get a fun (but scary) game that would recive a full complement of stars. Happy Hunting ;p

let me geuss you have seen the aliens, and predator movies but whonder if this game would peek your intrest will you may be disipointed some campains with a certion spices (predator) may be the only species and campaions youd be intresed in altought i'm a alien type of guy the cheap form of combat seem to make me happy. but this game my not intrest thought who like seeing enemy's hole and not in peices when shot. altought the outher spises whould be most intresting when in combat. but there is no such thing as being bored...
enjoy the graphic nature of extreme action...

I thoght that this game was going to be great. One of the options i was really excited about was skirmish mode, but it turns out that you can only be a predator and marine instead of an alien. But I love the multiplayer mode. that is why this gets a three.

I've played countless games of all types - from first person shooters to world building, real-time strategy to casino. You name it, I've played it.
I've enjoyed most of them, detested some, and left a few mediocre ones on the hard drive for a week or two.
I'll tell you what - AvP is one of the most immersive games I've ever played. EVER. And that's the straight dope.
Never before has a video game actually made me jump in my seat - and it does this consistently! Not some little jump of surprise, but one of almost real fear and terror.
I'm addicted. Can't wait for OS X multiplayer!
