Wow. I'm impressed. An old school fps using sprites for the enemies and it still rocks! Took me most of the first part of the game to get into it but dang it starts to get intense. I jumped more than once. And when you think your safe your not. Even if you've been thru the area before! The levels are pretty much kill everything and get to the exit but the level designs make up for it.and most modern fps are like that only boring! I haven't played the ps1 version but I have seen side by side comparison on YouTube and I think that while ps1 has creepy lighting effects not on the Saturn the Saturn has enemies that look and move more realisticly some times. And you have a more lit up visual. The pixalation here actually helps make the sprites not look so much like paper cut outs like the ps1 version can look like. Maybe its just me but the Saturn aliens seem to have an extra frame of animation or two as well. All in all this is one of the best fps I have played fro. Any generation. With the save file all your weapons and gear is carried over so every hit counts which makes it so cool. I made it to one of the hardest levels barely alive and managed some how to get through after a few tries and restock some. It was crazy intense and very rewarding.

Man I love this game! I have always loved first person shooters, but this one takes the cake. I've heard over and over again that " It's a Doom clone " but so what, it's a great game! You can't play a game that doesn't copy something from an other video game. ( except NiGHTS Into Dreams that is! ) I love playing it in the dark with the sound system on, and zoning out with this very intense game. The face huggers are creepy, ( especially when they're on your face ) the alien's are fast, the music/sound FX is emersing, the frame-rate is quick, and the weapons are cool. What really gets me in this game is, you can hear the aliens running in the walls and in the ceiling ducts, and sometimes they come out to get you and sometimes they don't, you never really know when your time is up. After you die in the game, ( and you will die ) it goes to a cut scene that shows you getting killed by one of the many different aliens, it's almost worth dying over! It really doesn't follow the movie very close, but it's not that big of a deal to me because the game play is freaking awesome. The game has over thirty levels ( I mean long levels ) and hours and hours of top notch blood pumping game play. If your a Sega Saturn junky like me, ( and you know who you are ) you got to get this game, you won't be sorry! " Happy Alien Hunting! "

Exciting with a dark and foreboding feel. A must play for Alien fans.

So it's pretty much a Doom clone with Alien stuff inserted. Definitely well made. Good sound effects (the pulse rifle and tracker beeps are especially great), good enemy sprites (the facehuggers *shudder*), and pretty good level design. It still devolves into your standard 'find the key' type of FPS, but if you're willing to accept that this is just what games were back then, it's a good time overall.
