I think Agatha Christie really did go missing for a few days when she was much younger.
This is based on that. I really enjoyed the movie!

As it states in other words it is an imagined idea of what took place during her 11-day disappearance in 1926 and what a great way to tell that -- in a real-life murder case during that disappearance! Agatha as a Miss Marple, of sorts, stepping out of the pages of her own stories to be in one. It is clever, extremely well-acted -- as the British always can be counted on, superbly cast, filmed well, directed well, and absolutely written to the degree that you believe you are watching an actual, new, Agatha Christie story by the author herself. I have read all of her books and pieces repeatedly, seen every film multiple times, all the series, have seen the plays, this holds up totally to what you'd expect. I found it hard to NOT believe it was just one of her stories I had foolishly overlooked.

No, no one is being attacked for any personal, cultural or other reason at all in the story, just as no one ever was in an original Christie. It's just great, engaging entertainment...like all of the original Agatha Christie works.

5 legitimate stars! I saw watch it!

I normally don't love historic fiction but this was a really fun take on the mystery of Agatha Christie's famous disappearance. Very creative and well crafted. Clever that they included another famous author of the era as well. Don't want to give away too much. If you're into the Mystery at an Old English Manor House genre, this is for you.

In these days of gender confusion, to enjoy a portrayal of a woman who can integrate traditionally masculine qualities of (socially acknowledged) professionalism and persistence while never pretending to be who she can never be, is a balm. The superb quality of the staging (viz. Agatha's attire when she was interviewing the suspects) and the camera work only enhance. Jung postulated that the unconscious of every individual housed a contra-sexual element that was usually discovered only in its projections. To see its conscious integration in a person portrayed in a film which at the same time avoids the political bowdlerization of this transformation, and realized accomplished with expertise and talent, surely deserves high praise.

This imaginative recreation of a gap in Christie's personal history is entertaining, contained some great surprises, and the acting was very good.

As with most British murder mysteries, the production values were good. The acting was above average. The story was a little slow and, for some reason, felt flat and uninspired. But of course the story was predictably PC - the murderer is going to be a religious person - a Christian in this case. The disclaimer at the end, that the story had not been licensed by Agatha Christies' heirs, should have been at the beginning. Had it been, I might have passed on it.

I loved "Agatha and The Truth of Murder". It was kind'a slow at the start but got better and better. It was a great who dun-it. It was hard to figure out. I was in suspense til the end. That's what I like. It's a different kind of Christy view. Interesting and in the end, it all worked out for the good.

I love Agatha Christie novels, have read them since I was a teen. Her real-life disappearance was always an added thrill about her, since I read she had no memory of what happened to her. This movie script imagines what happened to her during those 11 days.

All I can say is the acting is superb - British actors are always superb. The reason for the one star, however, is because, like so many British TV shows I watch these day, I can tell from the beginning that any character who is Christian is ALWAYS the villain. If they're wearing a necklace with a crucifix, or are practising Christians, or a priest, its shorthand for signaling they will be the murderer. I have NEVER EVER seen it otherwise. The icing on the cake for the 'woke' writer of this film is that the person murdered is a lesbian. Since in today's secular world, all Christians are the bad guys & all LBTQ people are saints.

2.0 out of 5 stars Seller review

The product arrived but I was unable to play the DVD because of a region conflict. I missed this tiny detail in the advertisement of the product. Consider me a novice on-line buyer.... if you can buy the product in Canadian funds, from a Canadian site, I assume you will at least purchase a product that can be used in Canada. Rookie mistake I guess. I tried to return the product, the seller will gladly refund my purchase, but I must bear the return costs... from Canada to Britain. The return mailing costs prohibit me from sending it back. I’m stuck with a useless product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sehr gute Darstellung
Reviewed in Germany on December 13, 2019
und ich habe irgendwie das Gefühl, es gibt keine echten Fans von Agatha Christie oder es
mangelt an Fantasie.
