Lu (they/them), the founder, designer and producer of Aluf Shop has always been

a creative mind.

it all happened in 2020 when three of their major passions collided with a bang - art, ethical fashion and environmentalism - and thus Aluf Shop was born.

Lu, the visionary and artist behind Aluf Shop, has always existed on a thin line between reality and a daydream.

they see the world for what it is, but also see the world for what it could be.

they hold a deep love for both art and fashion as creative forms of self-expression. upon coming to terms with our ever-worsening environmental crisis, Lu felt compelled to find a way to use their voice using the only tool they knew - art.

their jewelry is not only an accessory, but a statement.

every single oil-cartridge

used in our jewelry and sculptural work was purchased directly from a dispensary by Lu themself or was donated directly to Aluf Shop's cause by friends and people in Lu's community who felt too bad to toss their empties but who didn't have any further, practical use for them.

a new life in the form of jewelry and/or art and sculpture.

why Aluf?

the name "Aluf" is actually just a blend of the word 'aloof' and Lu's name.

we originally launched our shop in 2020 using Etsy as our sole platform but when it came to picking out a brand name, there were too many options. the final decision was to choose a name that related to the dreamy, airy vibe that Lu has always been known for. with this in mind, 'aloof' seemed like the right word to describe an artist whose head has always been in the clouds. and the icing on the cake? the word blended perfectly with Lu's name.

and so, Aluf Shop was brought into existence!

since opening, we've sold many different gems and sculptures online, physically set up shop in multiple local community craft bazaars and met many unique & incredible individuals interested in contributing to our work, stock and cause. we've since moved our business over to our very own, shiny, new website and are so excited to watch Aluf Shop continue to create, learn and blossom.

we DO ask that you thoroughly disinfect each empty cartridge before sending them our way.

an alcohol-based solution will work best!
