Code

Code of Ethics

Code of ethics is a whole set of rules regulating advoca’s operation principles and supplier relations.  These rules are binding for company’s executives, employees and suppliers.

 

Trust and respect

Operations among company’s executives, employees and suppliers are carried out on mutual trust and respect for different opinions. Decisions and suggestions reflect a shared wisdom reached as a result of a harmonious effort. S/he acts respectfully in all of their communications, values people’s work, ideas and time. S/he welcomes open and right feedbacks; respects them and replies them honestly.

 

Transparency, honesty and openness

S/he acts honestly against all of its external stakeholders. S/he does not discriminate according to age, sex, race or political thought. S/he adopts diversity and plurality. S/he believes in and supports freedom of thought. S/he makes an effort to provide this diversity and plurality in recruitments and in utilization of company’s operations and services; acting in a manner that considers the benefits of institutions, organizations and social communities it serves. In all their activities, transparency, equity, responsibility and accountability are adopted as basic principles.

 

Respect for law and legal compliance

S/he adopts universal declarations, especially human rights, as their guide and acts in compliance with law in all its operations. S/he makes company’s decisions by taking into account all relevant legal regulations and when necessary consulting with experts on the subject. S/he carries out all activities and transactions of both at home and abroad within the regulations of Turkish and international law; s/he provides timely, accurate and comprehensible information to regulatory agencies and institutions. In carrying out all activities and transactions, s/he places all public institutions and organizations, administrative organizations, non-governmental organizations and political parties equally without any interest expectation and fulfill their responsibilities with consciousness.

 

Respect for privacy and protecting personal information

Against the natural and legal persons which get in contact, s/he provides options for their own privacy preferences and respects these preferences. S/he shares these options under the title of “Privacy Statement” on all websites transparently. S/he protects personal and private information of current and former employees and other individuals those cooperated for company operations. Personal information is only used for company’s legitimate purposes.

 

Avoiding conflict of interest

S/he works and contributes to all company-related activities and participations by taking the decisions that are most appropriate for the benefit of the company.  S/he shares each situation that is possible to be understood as a potential conflict of interest with the Company Board. Members of board cannot perform income-generating activities on behalf of the company.

 

Representative activities, gifts and bribery

S/he offers or accepts representative activities (celebration, banquet, entertainment) only with the condition that they comply with law and code of ethics. S/he does not offer or give any gifts, bribe or commission anywhere in the business to take any business or influence a business decision.

 

Liabilities

In addition to legal liabilities, s/he cares to fulfill below listed responsibilities against clients, employees, shareholders, suppliers, business partners, humanity and the name of “advoca”.

 

1. Legal Liabilities

S/he carries out all activities and transactions of both at home and abroad within the regulations of Turkish and international law; s/he provides timely, accurate and comprehensible information to regulatory agencies and institutions. In carrying out all activities and transactions, s/he places all public institutions and organizations, administrative organizations, non-governmental organizations and political parties equally without any interest expectation and fulfill their responsibilities with consciousness.

 

2. Responsibilities to Clients

S/he works client satisfaction oriented, and in a proactive approach that responds clients’ needs and demands accurately in the shortest time. S/he provides services in time and with the promised conditions; approaches clients within a frame of respect, honor, equality and courtesy.

 

3. Responsibilities to Employees

S/he ensures full and correct use of employees’ personal rights. S/he approaches its employees honestly and fairly; s/he guarantees a safe and healthy working environment. S/he makes necessary effort for employees’’ personal growth; with a sense of social responsibility, supports them to volunteer in social activities, takes care of the balance between work and  private life.

 

4. Responsibilities to Suppliers/Business Partners

S/he behaves fairly and respectfully as expected from a good client, s/he pays attention to fulfill their obligations in time. S/he protects confidential information of their business partners together with the people and institutions with whom they have business relationship safely.

 

5. Responsibilities to Competitors

S/he competes effectively only on legal and ethical areas, avoids unfair competition. S/he supports studies aiming to ensure the targeted competitive structure within the society.

 

6. Responsibilities to Society and Humanity

With the sense of being a good citizen, s/he acts sensibly as a leader on social issues; tries to take part in non-governmental organizations, public weal services and activities in accordance with these matters. Does not accept or offer gifts, products and services those exceed the purpose or bribe.

 

7. Responsibilities to the name of "advoca"

S/he strives to maintain the highest level of trust and reputation achieved thanks to professional competence and honesty against their business partners, clients and other stakeholders.

S/he serves within the rules of company policies, professional standards, given commitments and code of ethics; works devotedly to fulfill their obligations.

S/he gives importance to serve in the areas where s/he thinks s/he is and will be professionally capable; aims to work with clients, business partners and employees those comply with the criteria of correctness and lawfulness. S/he does not work with those harm social moral and health.

In front of public and where the audience thinks s/he is speaking on behalf of the company, s/he only expresses company’s opinions rather than their own.

When s/he comes across with a complex situation that is possible to risk advoca, s/he consults primarily to related personnel, following technical and administrational consultancy procedure.

 

Responsibilities of the Employees

advoca has defined code of ethics, related policies and procedure together with how to behave and work in detail. Abiding by these rules is the primary responsibility of all employees. Accordingly, all advoca employees are liable for;

  • Acting in compliance with laws and regulations in all conditions,
  • Reading the code of ethics of advoca and knowing, understanding, internalizing and acting in accordance with the rules, principles and values contained therein,
  • Learning specific policies and procedures for general and business affairs of the company,
  • Consulting to the related manager or human resources in the cases of potential violations regarding themselves or others.
  • Reporting others’ or their own violations immediately; transmitting their notifications in written or oral form to their manager, human resources and/or to the Ethics Committee with or without anonymity,
  • Cooperating with Ethics Committee in ethical investigations, keeping confidential information about the investigation.
