Homeostasis

Homeostasis is the state of constant internal condition maintained by living organisms.

It is the balanced state of internal, physical and chemical conditions maintained by the living system.

This includes body temperature, water balance, sugar levels, and salt balance.

Homeostasis mechanisms are necessary for an organism to survive.

This mechanism helps organisms tolerate natural changes under certain conditions.

Various components are involved in maintaining a constant internal ambient.

Different organs of our body are involved in maintaining balance. These include skin, lungs, liver, kidneys, etc.

Skin regulates body temperature and water balance with the help of the hypothalamus.

The liver regulates sugar levels in the blood.

Lungs regulate Carbon dioxide and Oxygen levels with the help of respiratory sensors of the brain.

Kidneys regulate the salt balance and water balance.
