Four injured in LaPorte County crash

Four people were injured Saturday after a head-on collision in LaPorte County.

This happened around 9 p.m. on US 20 and State Road 39 in Springfield Township.

Police say a gray Ford Focus was traveling westbound on US 20 when a red Nissan Rogue driving eastbound tried to turn left into a gas station. The Nissan turned directly into the path of the Ford, hitting the vehicle head on, police say.

The driver of the Ford was taken to Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries. His passenger was taken to a hospital in LaPorte. Their conditions are unknown.

The driver and passenger of the Nissan were treated by EMS on scene and refused further medical attention, police say.

The crash remains under investigation.
