92 points John Gilman (View From the Cellar): "The 2013 Fins Lieux #7 from Pehu-Simonet is composed entirely of chardonnay from the vineyard of les Chouettes in the village of Villers-Marmery. The vins clairs for this bottling were raised in stainless steel and the wine was given nearly seven years aging sur latte prior to its disgorgement in February of 2021; it was finished with a dosage of three grams per liter. The wine offers up a lovely nose of apple, pear, brioche, gentle smokiness, a hint of hazelnut and a fine base of chalky soil tones. On the palate the wine is vibrant, full-bodied and still quite youthful, with a good core of fruit and soil undertow, pinpoint bubbles, zesty acids and a long, balanced and nascently complex finish. This wine closes today with a touch of leesiness still, which I suspect will be absorbed into the other components of the wine with a bit more bottle age; I would be inclined to allow this to happen by tucking the wine away for another three or four years, as it will be more elegant on the backend, once this aspect has dissipated. It has a fine future ahead of it. 2024-2045. (Sep/Oct 2021)"
