Cardura

Cardura - welzo

Doxazosin is marketed under the name Cardura. Doxazosin is a member of the class of medications known as alpha blockers. The prostate and bladder neck's blood vessels and muscles are relaxed as a result of the action of alpha blockers, which facilitates urination. Male benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is treated with Cardura. The prostate gland enlarges as a result of BPH. BPH symptoms include dribbling after urinating, difficulty urinating, a weak urine stream, and the urge to urinate even when your bladder is empty. Cardura can be used for additional conditions not covered in this medication guide.

Pharmacokinetics

After oral administration, Cardura is quickly and completely absorbed. Within one to two hours (Tmax), the mean peak plasma concentration (Cmax) is attained. Cardura is 96% bound to albumin and other plasma proteins.

Cardura is primarily distributed in the extracellular fluid compartment and has a volume of distribution of about 17 L/kg.
