Felipe Mujica (Chile, 1974) lives and works in New York. He holds an Art degree from Universidad Católica de Chile. His work is influenced by the social and political movements of the 60’s and 70’s, and elements from graphic design and advertisement, that bring together the pictorial and popular culture. As a Latin American artist living in the United States, his discourse is influenced by his geographic displacement, since for him there is no center or real periphery. In 1997, Mujica co-founded (with Diego Fernández y José Luis Villablanca) the Galería Chilena GALCHI, and since 2009 he has worked in editorial design and production of artist publications, alongside Johanna Unzueta.

His individual and bi-personal exhibitions include ¿En qué estabas pensando, en el pasado o en el futuro? (What Were You Thinking About, the Past or the Future?), MAVI UC, Santiago de Chile (2022); Soltaré cien conejos y usted verá como le hace para juntarlos todos (I’ll Release a Hundred Rabbits and You’ll See How You’re Doing To Gather Them All Together), Sala de Arte Público Siqueiros, Cuernavaca (2022); The Swaying Motion on the Bank of the River Falls, Pérez art museum Miami, Miami (2021); All Tomorrow’s Parties, Von Bartha Gallery, Basel (2019); We Are Closer to the Invisible Than to the Visible, MAMM Medellín, Medellín (2018); Architecture and Friendship, with Johanna Unzueta, Proyectos Ultravioleta, Guatemala City (2013); Ojos de Perro Azul, Nuno Centeno Gallery, Porto, Portugal (2012); A Bridge is a Man Crossing a Bridge, Christinger De Mayo, Zürich, Switzerland (2011); and One Day This Will All Be Yours, Open Source Gallery, Brooklyn, New York (2011). He has participated in numerous group exhibitions in the United States, Chile, Sweden, Brazil, Austria, Guatemala, Mexico and Colombia, including Shout Fire, Roda Sten Konsthall, Gothenburg (2018); XIII Bienal FEMSA, Zacatecas (2017); Nameless Freedom, CRAC Alsace, Altkirch (2017); Incerteza Viva, 32 São Paulo Biennial, São Paulo (2016); and The End of the East Coincides With the End of the South, Proyectos Ultravioleta, Guatemala City (2015).
