WARWICK, R.I. (WJAR) — K-9 Officer Fox, who gained national attention after he and the Warwick Police Department recently began their stint on A&E’s “Live PD,” has vowed to give fans “pawtographs” if he reaches 3,000 followers.
NBC 10 News tweeted at K-9 Fox and the WPD Sunday morning, sharing a video of a K-9 officer from Florida signing “pawtographs,” or a print of the animal’s paw.
“OMG...@K9Fox2 of the @warwickripd should do this! I want a #pawtograph!” Web Editor Jessica A. Botelho wrote.
Before the end of the day, K-9 Fox replied.
“I’m thinking if we can get #K9Fox to 3K followers, we can send out some pawtographs to our fans/followers! #FollowK9Fox,” K-9 Fox wrote in response.
Fans of “Live PD,” which is a national TV show that accompanies authorities while they’re out on the beat, quickly reacted, with K-9 Fox gaining about 200 followers in just a few hours.
Several fans said they want pawtographs from the local celebrity police pooch, who was featured on the show with his handler, K-9 Officer Paul Wells, July 14.
“Yes!!! Great idea! I would LOVE ONE!!!! I’m going into criminal justice myself!” Nathan Cafaro noted.
As of Monday afternoon, K-9 Fox had 2,560 followers, with less than 500 fans to reach his goal.
