Do you know the ultimate secret to Angus Young's sound? If ACDC's lead guitarist is iconic for his Gibson SG and Marshall amps, his Schaffer Vega wireless system is the indispensable link to his amps. Far from being a simple wireless system, the Schaffer was a real boost that made the amps saturate. All Angus had to do was turn up the volume on the receiver on the amp, and his Marshall would go nuts! The Schaffer Vega was the very first wireless system. Designed in 1976 by Ken Schaffer, it has been used by many artists. It is thanks to this innovation that David Gilmour was able to play the solo of Comfortably Numb at the top of the wall in 1979. He continued to use the Vega during the 80's on the Momentary Lapse Of Reason tour. In spite of a will of sound transparency, the Schaffer Vega brought a particular color which we propose you today.

The Vegamissyl, placed at the beginning of the chain, will bring you the color that had the Schaffer Vega of the 70s. Its uses are numerous and very varied thanks to its three controls. The "Strap" corresponds to the transmitter, it allows you to adjust the input level of the pedal. It is to be adjusted according to the output level of your guitar. A simple pickup will require a lighter setting than a powerful humbucker. The "Monitor" setting corresponds to the receiver placed on the amp. This is the setting that will allow you to boost your volume, your amp, your overdrive or distortion pedal. The third setting, "Opto Isolator", is the Vega's internal optical compressor designed by Ken Schaffer. Linked to the Strap control, it allows you to manage the dynamics of the signal entering the monitor. So you can use the Vegamissyl as a compressor.

The Vegamissyl is a true-bypass pedal that works with a 9vDC power supply (negative center) for a 50mA consumption. It is handmade by us in our workshop in Nantes. Do not hesitate to contact us through the contact form for any question.
