Xbox Series X 4K dashboard support coming, available on Insider track

Do you feel the need for hi-res?

Xbox Series X 4K dashboard support is coming to consoles and is available now to those in the Xbox Insider Alpha Skip-Ahead ring.

The feature is available now with the update that provides it a mandatory install for Alpha Skip-Ahead users.

“Alpha Skip-Ahead Insiders on Xbox Series X consoles connected to a 4K display can begin flighting an increased resolution UI,” Microsoft detailed. “This change means Home, Guide, and other areas of the UI will be displayed in a higher native resolution for increased sharpness and text readability.”

Users testing the feature out have commented how tiles look hi-res now… but that it’s still a work in progress. Xbox Series X icons and the like appear to be using old assets on top of game tiles and look blurry and muddied (though that’ll surely change before the feature is released into the wild).

If you’re an Alpha Skip-Ahead Insider, let us know what you think of the new hi-res dash! If you’re not an Alpha Skip-Ahead Insider and want to be, you can sign up using the Xbox Insider app on your Xbox Series X console (or Xbox Series S or Xbox One, but this unique feature is only on the highest-end current-gen one).
