With some frequency I have told you in my writings, that at home I have a small garden, which are mostly made up of plants in pots or hanging baskets. However, I have a small space of approximately 6 m ₂ , in that area I have sown grass, but I confess that it is my biggest nightmare, because it is lived full of weeds, and I really do not have the enough time to be on top of unwanted plants. The flower that I present to you today belongs to one of those plants that grow without premise and I discovered it precisely while I was tearing the weed, and it seemed so beautiful to me the tiny inflorescences that it produces that I decided to photograph it and then find out what its name was. It was necessary because a neighbor coincidentally came to greet me and it was she who clarified my doubt, commenting that it is commonly known as Tail of Scorpion or "Alacrancillo".

Already having the name, with which this plant is commonly known, my research work on the internet was easier, I immediately discovered that this herbaceous and perennial plant is known in the scientific field as Heliotropium angiospermum. It is not clear, the place of origin of this plant, belonging to the family of the Boraginaceae, some theories maintain that it is native to America, but others locate their original habitat in the tropical areas of Asia. What is certain is that at present it can be seen disseminated by most of America, but in areas of tropical climate.

This herbaceous plant, which does not reach a large size, can at most exceed a meter in height. It owes its peculiar name to the shape of the spike, along which its delicate and tiny inflorescences emerge, as you can see in the images that I share with you, this one curls at the tip resembling the tail of the scorpions. However, Tail of Scorpion or "Alacrancillo", are not the only names with which it is known, in some places it is called Borrajón, Cotorrera, Indian Eliotrope and Verbena.

Finally, I wanted to tell you that there are many medicinal benefits that are attributed to this plant, including the relief of some diseases at the rheumatological level, in the treatment of some dermatological, respiratory, digestive, and even endocrine diseases. and even, according to help even in case of alopecia. I do not know if all this is true, but what you should always keep in mind, before deciding to use it for medicinal purposes, is that it has a certain level of toxicity, so be careful to be careful with the quantity and the way it is used.
