BKFC 28 results: Christine Ferea overwhelms, forces Taylor Starling to wave off fight in 47 seconds

Christine Ferea was simply too much to handle on Saturday night.

In the main event of BKFC 28, Ferea (6-1 BKFC) put her 125-pound title on the line for the first time against previously-undefeated bareknuckle competitor, Taylor Starling. While the bout was scheduled for five rounds, it wouldn’t see past the first minute.

The fight took place at Rio Rancho Events Center in Albuquerque, N.M.

From the moment the fight began, Starling (3-1 BKFC) was throttled by Ferea, who put together fast combinations of punches, leading to a fast knockdown. As the referee began to count, Starling returned to her feet and began telling her corner she did not want to continue.

The referee got her attention to ask if she was able to keep fighting, and she did. The fight resumed, and so did the barrage from Ferea. A moment later, Starling put her hands up to wave off the fight, signaling she wanted no more just 47 seconds into the fight.

Ferea, 39, defends her title for the first time and improves to six wins under the BKFC banner. The Invicta FC veteran has won four-straight bareknuckle competitions, including three stoppages during her current streak. Only one of her six BKFC fights reached the judges’ scorecards.

Starling, 26, entered Saturday’s title opportunity as an undefeated bareknuckle fighter with three-straight wins over Charisa Sigala, Cassie Robb, and Hannah Guy.
