Anonymous:how would you translate "to show off" in spanish?

There are a billion ways to say “to show off”.

The verb fanfarronear is a lot more universal I think. It means “to grandstand” or more literally “to blow horns” or “to create fanfare”. 

I believe presumir and jactarse are also common.

Older words will be more gloriarse or vanagloriarse which is “to glorify oneself” or “to be vainglorious” which is “empty glory” really.

And then there’s pavonearse which means “to preen” or “to strut” or “to be a show off”… probably having to do with el pavo real which is a “peacock”.
