Laxar Fiskeldi ehf. is a Salmon Farming Company in Iceland. Majority owner of Laxar Fiskeldi is Måsøval Eiendom, a family owned Norwegian Salmon farmer with 45 years of experience from the industry. The company operates two hatcheries at Bakki and at Fiskalon in Olfus, in addition to a land-based facility in Thorlakshofn. Laxar Fiskeldi operates salmon farming in Reydarfjordur where the company is licenesed to produce 6000 tonnes of salmon in sea cages. The company plans to increase production of salmon in the Eastern fjords in the long run up to a volume of 25000 tonnes.
The overall philosophy of Laxar Fiskeldi is to operate a salmon farming where knowledge is of prime concern and at the same time financial strength in order to meet and take on adverse issues and difficulties.

Laxar Fiskeldi ehf. has an exciting opportunity for a CEO at its operation in Iceland. Preferably the candidate should have an experience in salmon farming as well as in development and organizational building. This is a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to contribute to the development of an exciting company with a bright future. This role reports to the Chairman of the Board of Laxar Fiskeldi.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees all operational responsibilities of landand sea-based facilities of the company
- Builds and develops an organizational- and operating culture that supports the company‘s vision
- Develops operational and strategic plans in collaboration with the company‘s board
- Reviews and implements improvements in consultation with the management team
- Sets clear and motivating goals for the employees
- Develops community relationships and also with pertinent stakeholders
- Explores and develops value adding processes
Qualifications:
- University degree that is applicable to the functions of the operation
- Advantage if the candidate is experienced within Icelandic business community
- Operational- and managerial experience preferably in salmon farming
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken tongue. Norwegian is an advantage
- Leadership- and teamwork skills
- Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail
- Drive and tenacity
