February 2021 - Entradero Park

About the Image(s)

This was shot with my Mavic Pro from about 100 ft. above Entradero Park in Torrance CA. This is a neighborhood. In fact it is nestled witin a neighbohood with no maiin streets bordering on it. And yet it includes a reasonably sized lake, and hiking trails, which are not common to parks in the South Bay of Los Angeles, except for Rancho Palos Verdes in the background.

The shot itself is one of the 21 RAW images that are taken in the 180-degree panorama flight mode of the Mavic. I chose not to crop it.

Hi Don, I think this is an interesting image and perspective. To me the ball field makes a nice focal point. I have never tried the panoramic flight mode but it sounds interesting. I appreciate that you did not crop the image but to my eye the horizon seems a little off which I find disturbing in a landscape. Also, I think the image could be a little brighter. Thanks for sharing this.   Posted: 02/12/2021 09:38:21

Lou, you are probably right about the horizon should be leveled. I chose not to, because the terrain does indeed rise as you go from left to right. But no matter, it is somewhat distracting.

I probably should have selectively brightened the foreground a bit. Thanks for your comments.   Posted: 02/18/2021 10:02:26
