Liv Tyler and sports agent/manager Dave Gardner are engaged, multiple sources tell PEOPLE.

Tyler, 38, and Gardner have been dating since 2014 and have already been engaged for nearly a year, a source says. Tyler was spotted wearing what looked like an engagement ring back in April.

Last September, the couple told PEOPLE they were expecting their first child together – and in February, they welcomed son Sailor Gene Gardner.

This will be the second marriage for both Gardner, who was previously married to Davinia Taylor, and Tyler, who was previously married to Royston Langdon.

In an interview for their October cover story, Tyler told More magazine that her past relationships have taught her a lot.

“I had this philosophy that you should only get married once. But then, of course, that changes,” she said. “I definitely believe we have lessons we learn through our relationships.

“You’re meant to work through and mirror each other. It’s the thing in someone that drives you the most crazy that is maybe a part of yourself.”

In that same interview, though she did not discuss the engagement, Tyler reflected on her bustling life, which keeps expanding – with a role in HBO’s The Leftovers, a new child and, now, a new husband.

“I feel like I’m conducting a giant orchestra, because there’s so many moving parts. It’s like, ‘Over there, you guys do that!’ And then, ‘Over there, you do this! All together now!’ ” she said. “It’s kind of what it feels like to be a mom, isn’t it? In the modern world?”

The engaged couple recently spent an evening among famous friends.

David Beckham, a close friend of Gardner’s, posted a Friday night photo to Instagram of the trio out to dinner. Also included in the group was Oasis musician Noel Gallagher.

The caption: “Another great night at lucali thanks to mark and the girls.”
