Amiga Productions from Void at Revision 2024

Hi,

Thanks for visiting the Old School Game Blog. 🙂

The Revision 2024 demo party takes place in Saarbrücken, Germany. This year it is being held from March 29th to April 1st.

Plenty of competitions have been held for everything from music and graphics to demos and games. A full overview of contributions is available at Demozoo.

We in Void participated with a music disk for the Commodore CDTV called Blue Saxophone. This one is, I believe, a bit unique, as it is probably the first production of this kind for the platform. It features six compact disc HI-FI tracks created by Assassin/Void, and you can control the music with the CDTV remote control. Responsible for programming, design, and text was AlienTech/Void. I helped with support and logistics. We shipped the CD to Charlie, one of the organizers of Revision, who recorded it running on a real CDTV. Later, it took part in the Wild Demo competition.

Blue Saxophone also works on the CD32. If you have one of these machines, you can pop in the CD and it will boot to the menu and start playing music. Remember to burn the CD with the Cue-file, so that the audio tracks are taken care of. 😉

You can download Blue Saxophone via the link below:

I hope you’ll enjoy the music disk! Hopefully, some of you will try it on a CDTV or CD32. In that case, we’d love to hear what you think of the music in a comment below. Thanks in advance!

Void did also participate in the Amiga Intro competition with Sorry For The Inconvenience by Hukka and Muzzy. It is a fast-paced presentation with everything on screen synchronized to the music. The intro was created for Amiga OCS/ECS. You can download it from here. A video from YouTube has been included below:

I hope you’ll enjoy the show! 🙂

Last, but not least, our graphician Kisu/Void took part in the Paintover competition with a nice picture. It’s called “Waves, bubbles, and diver perhaps”. It is not yet up on Demozoo, but will be soon. 😉

If you’d like to watch videos of the competitions at Revision, please have a look at this playlist on YouTube:

That was all for now. Thank you for reading! See you in another post here on the Old School Game Blog!
