Martin Palermo

My hero is Martin Palermo. He is a football player. He was born on November 7th 1973 in La Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

He made his debut in football in 1992, playing for Estudiantes de la Plata; he also placed in Spain and he has been playing for Boca Juniors since 1997. He placed a few times in the argentinian team. He is the godfather of a charity foundation, called "Sos Infantil" that helps children in need that live near La Boca. And he is always taking part in charity events related with football. He uses sport to help others.

Martin Palermo is a hero because he is not only a great football player, he is also a good person who uses sport to help others (charity). He has acted heroically to overcome obstacles throughout his entire life. He had a lot of bad moments; he suffered a lot during his life. His son, Stefano, died when he was born and Martin has had several injuries that have left him out of football for long periods of time but he always recovered and moved on with life.

When everybody judged him, he showed that he could do things better. So I think that courage and bravery are his best qualities. He is loyal and emotionally strong.

I chose Martin Palermo because he is an example of hope and strength in every aspect of life, that I would like to follow.
