Micro Machines: Atari Lynx

Atari Lynx arrived only two months after Nintendo released the Game Boy. From a purely technical standpoint Lynx was a sure winner. Sporting the first color LCD screen in a handeld game console, 4-channel digital sound and super fast graphics chip capable of producing unlimited blitter sprites with collision detection, who could resist Atari's latest invention.

Alas, while the launch was a success, and Lynx (together with 1991’s Lynx II) ended up selling 3 million units in it's six year run, nothing could stop Nintendo and its Game Boy, which absolutely dominated the handheld market for years to come.
