The Big Bang Theory’s end is drawing ever closer, with just a few more episodes to go.

With the finale looming, cast members Jim Parsons – aka Sheldon Cooper – and Mayim Bialik (Amy Fowler) have filmed their final outdoor scene for the show ahead of the last ever episode filming on 30 April.

The show will be a sad farewell for cast members including Parsons, who’s become a star as a result of his time on the long-running sitcom.

So just what did he do before Big Bang?

What was Jim Parsons in before The Big Bang Theory?

Parsons, who is 46, notched up a fair few TV and film appearances before The Big Bang Theory came calling.

He made his small screen debut in Ed in 2002 and appeared on the big screen for the first time in 2003 movie Happy End, before moving on to the acclaimed 2004 indie hit Garden State.

The actor also appeared in seven episodes of the legal drama series Judging Amy from 2004-2005 as a character called Rob Holbrook.

However he’s been a part of The Big Bang Theory since the series began in 2007 – with Sheldon Cooper becoming such an iconic character he also voiced a cartoon version of his alter ego on a 2009 edition of Family Guy.

Parsons also narrates the spin-off series Young Sheldon, about his character’s nine-year-old incarnation in late 80s/early 90s Texas.

An airdate has yet to be confirmed for the show’s final ever episode.

However we do know that the finale is a double bill, with creator Chuck Lorre saying both episodes will air on the same night.

‘It will be an hour,’ he told TVLine, ‘two episodes that will connect. It will be two separate episodes that will have a through line.’

Executive producer Eric Kaplan, meanwhile, told metro.co.uk that the final episode would be ’emotionally satisfying’ and ‘very surprising’.
