Hidden gem in El Monte. Located in a small shopping center, parking is available. Currently take out only. Friendly staff and locally owned. Full Mexican menu with a speciality in birria. You are able to get birria tacos, birria fries and birria loaded papa. The birria taco is crispy with cheese and birria. The fries are loaded with cheese, birria and grilled onions. The loaded papa has onion, green bell peppers and birria.

Place just opened 8 months ago. Went looking for tacos so I gave Gerardos a try. I was not dissapointed. Ordered Birria and it was great. Succulent flavors. Also had some menudo and it was good. Hominy and tripe cooked to perfection.
And got two asada tacos for a warmdown. They were good along with red and green salsa. Owners were very pleasant to talk to price reasonable. Place is small but well kept and clean. Will definately be going back. Got to try their chile verde soon.

This place is a little hole in the wall. I bought 2 birria taco plates. It was about 24 dollars. The plate came with beans, rice and 3 birria tacos. It comes with consome lemons cilantro and onions on the side.

The beans were delicous. Usually beans are nothing to write home about but these were deliciously seasoned :)

The employees are very very nice :)

They have it set up so that you just pick it up at the door no need to go on wich is great :) everyone was wearing masks. They had hand sanitizer right there at the table by the door.

The birria tacos had a lot of meat no skimping here. The birria tacos are crispy and they have cheese in them. The tortillas had the consome on them.

I will definitely be back! Can not wait to wat here again :)

There birria taco's are amazing! We've placed orders for 40-50 tacos to take to small gatherings and it's always a hit. They have curb side pick up, so very covid friendly.

I wish I could give them 0 stars. I ordered chilaquiles a chorizo burrito and an egg for my daughter. He said it would be 10 minutes. 28 minutes later still no food. We are sitting in the car the gentlemen put food in the car sat in his car for about 5 minutes then i get up to the window and he said I have a delivery before your food. Meanwhile he is sitting in the restaurant on his phone. So if your breakfast is cold this morning or if you get sick from it sitting in the car so long in this heat. I feel for you. They did give me a refund but horrible service. Definitely won't go back!

Just viewed Mexi Papas IG on this place. Since my hubby loves menudo, we had to check them out. Menudo is legit! So much flavor! I ordered the birria tacos- so good! to Mexi Papa shining a light on small businesses. Call in your order & pick it up.

Searching for a new place to grab some lunch and then I spotted this little place. It has an A rating and that's really important to me. I have tried the green wet burrito, the Carne aside plate and birria tacos and well... I'm just going to keep trying things here, very tasty. The chef, his wife and son are an amazingly friendly and a wonderful addition to this community. Come check it out!

The food is great but unfortunately when I ordered my food I payed a lot of money for them to forget some simple tacos on my order it's not the first time this happens there very pricy to always forget tacos last time I buy from here

Good spot for some Birria! Walked in and was greeted instantly. Staff is beyond friendly and always on their feet to see if you need anything. Would recommend it to anyone wanting some of their delicious tacos de birria! Definitely will be going back!

the service is always great here! i have been coming here for months even before COVID and they are very friendly! their birria tacos are crispy on the outside, the meat is tender, and consome is delicious,, never disappoints (:
