Caloroso Eatery & Bar

What a great meal! Was truly impressed by the quality and quantity of the food. Every bite eels shot and fresh. The staff was so nice. The space was a really good size and had plenty of seating both inside and out.

All of the food was amazing, but do not miss out on that chocolate cake! Definitely a spot to revisit!

The absolute worst dining experience I have had in years. Came in on a Monday night. Place wasn't too busy, many open tables. They said they were having a fundraiser that night but it wasn't jam packed or anything. Our overall dining experience took 2.5 hours. It took us an hour just to get bread and the two beers we ordered. 15 minutes more for salad. Apps took another 30 minutes after that. And the meals came out close to 2.5 hours after we ordered. Our waitress was not even the slightest bit apologetic. She was absent for most of the night. Our food finally came 15 more minutes after we spoke to the manager. When it did finally come it was not prepared well (such as the pancetta in the carbonara wasn't even cooked; sauces were watery; no mushrooms on burger as requested). The food was barely mediocre and the portion sizes were so small, looked more like lunch portions than dinner. It was such a disappointing night, especially since we were there to celebrate a birthday. Definitely not the fun and festive evening we expected to have. By the disappointed looks on the faces of the other patrons, they were all having somewhat similar experiences to ours. There are so many other good businesses in the area that I'd rather give my money to, and we'll be going there instead in the future.

Super SMALL salad for $10. I would consider it a side salad for an entree. The wings were extremely over done to point charred and dry crunchy with hardly any meat. Only made it through two wings of the eight. Horrible. Left the restaurant hungry and out $35.

Nice ambiance, particularly with their outside patio/bar area. Unfortunately, food was extremely underwhelming. Far from our #1 italian pick, but overall not horrible for the Shelton area.

Great service . I liked eating outside . Food was good but two times the pizza sauce gave my husband & I really bad heart burn . Not sure if it was the garlic maybe . But the pasta dishes that weren't red sauce were good .

For my sons 39th birthday in February, we had his surprise party at Caloroso. They did an amazing job and the food was excellent

This is our "go-to" spot in Shelton. The owner is always looking to improve the food, service and ambiance. We are happy we have found Caloroso and will look forward to many more enjoyable meals.

Maybe it was an off night? Had to wait to get our orders taken. We were told they were short staffed (like just about every place now). Service very slow, but friendly. Food, on the other hand, not so good. The chicken scarpariello was 2 pieces of chicken breast cutlets, some peppers, hardly any potatoes or sausage, and something that looked like spinach floating in a very thin red sauce. The salmon and risotto special was buried under some thick white sauce that resembled glue. Not appetizing, but edible. The place was crowded, so maybe I'm a food snob.

This place is top of the list in Shelton and I very highly recommend. I try to stop by here every time I visit from Austin, Tx. Haven't been in over a year but stopped in today and this place hasn't missed a beat. Great beer selection, really great wings ( better than Dew Drop!), the BEST pizza in the area and a really attentive, fun and energetic staff. Thanks to Amanda, who's killing it behind the bar and Chris for managing a great bar and restaurant. This was a really great experience, once again!
