SLIAC announces post-season basketball awards

ST. LOUIS, Missouri - The SLIAC office in St. Louis announced on Wednesday the post-season honors for the conference basketball teams.

MEN
For the Lyon College men, who were co-conference regular season champions in the SLIAC, placed Israel Palmer on the second team, Kylon McCullough and Frank Toney made the third team, Malik Madison made the all-defensive team, and John Paul Morgan was on the sportsmanship team for the SLIAC.

WOMEN
The Lyon College women finished fifth in the conference with a 10-8 league mark. However, Samantha Taylor made an impact in the SLIAC.
The 2024 SLIAC Newcomer of the Year is part of a new team to the league, Lyon College's Samantha Taylor. The freshman guard averaged 12.7 points and 3.2 rebounds during conference play while ranking 2nd in assists (77) and leading the league with 84 steals. Her 124 steals overall this season set a SLIAC single season record and helped her also earn the SLIAC Defensive Player of the Year award.
