Albia, Iowa was the last destination of Samuel and Anne Chestnut Love's first born, James Hamilton Love, his wife Susan Devitt Love and their 10 children.  James' siblings, Margaret Love Young, John Love, and Anne Love Dunleavy and their families also lived in Albia.  The stories of each may be found on their respective pages within this site.
Below: an undated, original plan map of the city of Albia, Iowa modified to roughly show where Love family members lived over the years since James Hamilton Love moved his family from Glasgow, Jefferson Co., Iowa to Albia in 1862. Albia, today, is much larger than shown here. As of 2016, the population was nearly 3,800.
