ALEX ROUSSEAU

*MANNER OF DEATH: Murdered by Keamy, shot. 

In 1988 Danielle Rousseau ran into the island which she was seven months pregnant. Danielle killed everyone in her expedition, including Robert, because they all went mad. Two months later, she alone gave birth to Alex, and was with her only a week before a 25 year old Ben Linus kidnapped her under orders from Charles Widmore. Ben was told to kill Alex, but instead he raised her as his own.

Growing up Alex and Ben had a good relationship until she was a teenager. By the time he was ready to disown her, she had begun calling him Ben. 

Alex helped Claire to escape after realizing the Others were going to take Claires baby. She was unaware at the time that that was how she managed to become one of the Others 16 years prior. 

Sayid eventually told Alex the truth about her mothers supposed death. Ben admitted the truth when he introduced the mother and daughter during the Kahana Crisis. 

Only when Alex was kidnapped by Martin Keamy did she realize that her fathers actions actually had a purpose. Keamy forced her to her knees in an ultimatum for Ben to come out. Ben thought he would win the game of chicken and ignored his daughters pleas to live, and Keamy killed her. 

After death, the Man In Black used her form to force Ben to listen to “Locke’s” commands. He used Ben’s guilt about her death to make him comply.
