Abstract

The present work is focused on the deflection profile of composite conoids with delamination. For the study purpose, these industrially important roofing units are subjected to UDL and point load as well. A self-designed computer code is developed using isoparametric finite element with eight nodes and five degrees of freedom per node. Finite element method is used to analyze angle- and cross-ply laminates with four layers. To illustrate deflection behavior of damaged composite conoids accurately, a parametric study is carried out for different aspect ratio and damage ratio. To arrive at suitable conclusions, boundary condition has been kept same, i.e., corner supported for all the cases of shells taken up, in present study.
