Disapprove - Hizaki (Versailles/Jupiter)

(For Anon! ~JLS)

You and Hizaki have been dating for about 3 and a half years now. Being from the younger generation, Hizaki dressing as a girl doesn’t bother you. It’s just a part of his job, like an actor’s costume. Hizaki dressing like a girl comes with a slew of pros as well. Out of eyeliner? Boyfriend has some! Out of translucent powder? Boyfriend has some! Complaining about how stupid bras are? Boyfriend understands! It’s a bonding experience really. He’s a great shopping buddy too. Then again so is Masashi… but that’s a story for another time.

So after 3 and a half years of dating you decided it was time for Hizaki to meet your parents. Your parents have been very excited to meet the man that tamed their wild daughter.

When you told Hizaki of your decision he went as white as a sheet and you’re pretty sure his soul left his body. You consoled him and told him that it would all be okay, and that you’ll be there with him through the whole thing. If you go down, you go down together.

So now you are in the car on your way to your parents house. You look over to see Hizaki playing with the hem of his t-shirt. Reaching over you take his hand and smooth your thumb over it a couple times.

The plan is to meet up with your parents at their house and drive to the venue where Versailles is playing after.

You finally arrive at your parrents house and the two of you get out. You take Hizaki’s hand, walking up to the door. You knock and wait. In seconds your parents are standing there smiles on their faces.

“Honey! Welcome home we’ve missed you so much!” Your mom coos taking your face in her hands.

You hug your mom then turn and hug your dad.

“Welcome home sweetie.” He says.

“And who’s your guest?” Your mom asks.

“Oh, um… Mom, Dad, this is my boyfriend Hizaki.” You say, smiling at him lovingly.

You turn back to look at your parents and see that their usual joyful smiles are replaced with fake ones. You furrow your eyebrows in confusion as to why they’d be fake smiling. Instead of spending all your time figuring it out, you check your watch and head for the car.

“We need to go now if we want to get there on time.” You say.

You arrive at the venue and Hizaki rushes in to get his hair and make up done and to get in costume. Rehersal was earlier, before you took Hizaki to get your parents.

You and your parents make your way backstage and are met in the hall by Kamijo in all his kingly glory.

“Ah, Bonjour!” He says, bowing. “I’m Kamijo, you must be ________’s parents. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”

Your mother beams.

“Likewise. You’re very kind. I’m Mary.”

“And I’m John.”

Your parents introduce themselves and Kamijo leads you all to the dressing room. You walk in and squeal seeing Hizaki’s new dress. You run over playing with the frills and giving him a big kiss on the cheek.

You hear a scoff and turn to see your parents looking at Hizaki. The looks in their eyes made you want to cry.

Disgust.

Anger.

Disapproval.

Hatred.

You stare at them appaled at the looks you see in their eyes. You know Hizaki has seen them too because he sort of deflates.

“________! I thought you were better than this!” Your mother yells.

“What do you mean by that?!” You yell back standing in front of Hizaki.

The other members of Versailles shuffle out letting you, Hizaki and your parents have privacy.

“I mean you’re dating a man who looks like a woman! If you wanted that you should have just become a lesbian!” She yells.

Your jaw drops.

“Mother!” You exclaim.

“Don’t ‘Mother’ me! You’re dating a freak! We will not condone it!” She yells back.

“Well it’s not your decision.” You say seriously. “If you can’t accept Hizaki for who he is and how he dresses for his job then you don’t accept me either. I love Hizaki with my whole being and if you can’t accept that then maybe you should leave.” You say.

Your parents look at you appalled. You had just spoken back to them. No matter how wild you were as a child, you never spoke back. Your parents realize in that moment just how grown up you’ve become.

“Fine. We’ll leave then!” You mother says stomping out of the room.

Your father follows after her.

You turn around to see Hizaki staring at you as if you had just taken a bullet for him

“W-why did you do that? You just gave up your parents for me… ________, go apologize right now.” Hizaki says, pushing you towards the door.

“No!” You say, spinning from his hands and looking him in the eye. “I love you. You’re my everything. Most importantly you are my future. When I look at you I see my husband. I see the father to my children. If my parents can’t accept you for who you are then they don’t deserve to have either of us. You’re too important for me to just give up. My parents did a good job raising me. The one thing the taught me that I will never forget is to stand up for what I believe in, and I believe in you.”

Hizaki looks at you, tears in his eyes. He wraps you up in his arms, holding you close to his chest.

“I don’t deserve you. You’re so perfect. Thank you for standing up for me ________.” Hizaki says, kissing you.
