Core Function 1. Recruitment It aims at recruiting the ambitious and talented students who are passionate to contribute to the development of a dynamic, sustainable open society, about making a difference and who are looking for a unique academic experience. Continuing the previous year’s work the recruitment office had this year many events and participations in school fairs and achieved a high number of campus and school visits to Introduce and Present Alfaisal University through a creative way and to formulate a professional relationship with potential student.

Core Function
Recruiting office sponsoring school students’projects The student recruitment office had sponsored one of its potential student’s school projects which was about their new technological inventions titled as Kabass Project. More than 80 students of different high schools have attended and participated in the event that took place on December 19th, 2013.
Alfaisal Recruitment Students Volunteers Alfaisal Ambassador The recruitment office had designed lapel pins with Alfaisal University logo for all the ambassador students from each school to establishing a Liaison between high school representative and Alfaisal University

Core Function Alfaisal Representatives All Alfaisal volunteer students, which have participated in the student recruitmenting activities, have been distinguished by special lapel pins with Alfaisal University logo

Targets of Receruitment Department: To contact potential students by the collected data from schools and other recruitment activities through: • Interest forms, schools profile, AU ambassadors’ profile, AU representatives profile and visits report forms that contains schools information to reach the points below: • Increase the general public awareness of Alfaisal University • Maintain up-to-date knowledge about Alfaisal University • To reach targeted number of students • Formulate a relationship with potential student • Stimulate communication between school principals and Alfaisal University

Review online applications for Admission to the University. Follow-up with students for any enquiries through emails, help desk, and phone calls. Provide English proficiency test for those who don’t have TOEFL or IELTS. Evaluate application credentials for admissions decision making. Maintain a database of student information in order to generate student reports whenever required. Certify copies of diplomas for international students. Organize hard copy files for new students. Archive all data and files, including daily system backups.

Coordinate registration of all students Coordinate the writing, editing and distribution of various enrollment reports to departments and colleges. Core Function 4. Student Services The student affairs office enriches the students› experiences by providing services and resources that involve the students in a creative campus atmosphere boosting their cultural, social, intellectual, and spiritual experiences and taking care of the student’s athletic, recreational, and artistic skills through providing them with opportunities that serve and match their demands, and discriminating the outstanding leaders in these fields. Our staff is working as a team developer and quality advisor, providing resource materials and leadership development opportunities, totally supported by our administrative staff to influence, guide and motivate students› growth enrich every student›s experience at Alfaisal.

Culture Day
Student Affairs and the Social & Development Committee (SDC) hosted the Culture Day’s event, on Feb. 22nd 2014, on the ground floor of College of Science and college of Business. The main aim of this event is to give our students and faculties the opportunity to share their traditions with each other. Alfaisal University has students from more than 20 countries, and each country provides their own traditions such as food, costumes and habits. On this event, there were 16 participating countries on one day with separate time for Males and Females. The woman event was scheduled from 1 pm to 4 pm, and the man event was from 6 pm to 10 pm. There was a competition among these countries for both genders, it was based on food, decorations and interactions. For males’ competition, the first winner was Yemen, the second winner was Syria, and Egypt took the third place, and for females’ competition, the first winner was Saudi Arabia ( Hijaz), and Syria took the second place, and the third one was Morocco.

Student Awards Alfaisal University has embraced a vision of academic excellence manifesting in the recruitment of distinguished faculty and staff, and promising students. The university has achieved remarkable success in four years. Alfaisal is a student centered one and it aims at promoting the best of its students. Counseling and Skills Development Unit (CSDU) (CSDU) is committed to promoting an atmosphere at Alfaisal University which is conducive to the well-being, personal growth, and psychological health of students. To this end, our staff of counselors are available as consultants to assist students with any difficulties. The CSDU Services promotes student success through: • Counseling: Individual and group counseling. • Training: Personal Development and Academic Workshops. • Awareness: Awareness complains (printed & emails). • Events and visits: students events and trips. South Korea trip This educational trip was aimed to Alfaisal honor and active students. We had 16 students on this trip with one supervisor. The program was 7 days long and included visit to Museums, Hyundai Steel Factory, Digital Pavillion, Ewha University, Samsung D’light and Samsung Transportation Museum. A student feedback was: «The recent trip to Korea left me with wonderful memories and lots of hilarious moments to laugh at again in the future. I traveled with a fantastic group of guys and it was definitely a great bonding experience for us all» Thank you from Talha Aamer. another comment: “A truly exceptional opportunity shared with great people. Admission Help Center Student affairs assigned students for summer jobs in the Admission and Registration office to help as the call center. The students were distributed depending on the needs of the office, two were responsible on answering the phone calls received from the applicants to reply to their questions regarding the university. The other two were in charge of filing and more in physical contact with the students. The students developed their skills in communication and their average performance.
