Hideo Kojima Watches Bollywood Blockbuster Pathaan in IMAX, Sings Praises for Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, All We Know

Critically acclaimed games Death Stranding and Metal Gear director Hideo Kojima’s love for Bollywood is no secret if you are a follower of his social media pages. And the latest Bollywood film that Kojima has watched is none other than the Shah Rukh Khan-Deepika Padukone starrer Pathaan. The film was a huge hit when it released earlier this year on Republic Day, and now even the Kojima Productions' head seems to have joined the fan club.

Kojima shared multiple posts on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, announcing that he watched Pathaan in IMAX. He explained how has been mentally and physically exhausted the last couple of days and needed to refill his “high-octane tank”, and thus watched Pathaan. Kojima not only seems extremely impressed and entertained, but his words exude his excitement and how stoked he must be after watching the movie.

About Pathaan, he writes, “it was awesome! I was numb! It opened my blood vessels! It was a MAD MAX level of energy! After seeing this, I think I'll be able to hold it for a while!” Not only that, he equated the film with action blockbusters like the Mission Impossible and James Bond movie series. He also mentioned director John Woo and S.S Rajamouli’s RRR, another film that Hideo Kojima has passionately expressed his fondness for, time and again. The Metal Gear director further added that Pathaan has a few elements from his critically acclaimed game too.

Apparently, there was “applause after the screening”, which gives us an idea of the Japanese audience’s reaction to Pathaan with its re-release in the country. But what probably strikes a chord from Kojima’s ‘review’ is him stating that “Movies these days think too hard. This is pure entertainment film!”

Furthermore, it seems like he has become an absolute fan of Bollywood’s Badshaah himself after watching Pathaan. Shortly after sharing his impression of the film, he shared two more posts mentioning, "Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are both too good". He keeps referring to Khan as ‘King’, and even added that he looks like “Okada-Kun” (Hachiman Hikigaya) from the manga series OreGairu.

Kojima is so impressed that he says that he’ll buy the Blu-ray Disc and Original Soundtrack when it releases in Japan. Regardless, the genius game creator who claims that 70% of his body is made of movies, highly recommends it and that says everything. Pathaan can now be rented and streamed online in UHD quality, on Amazon Prime Video at INR 99.

As for SRK, he will be seen next in Jawaan which releases this week on September 7th. The upcoming movie directed by Atlee Kumar, and co-starring Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi, is now the talk of the town having already sold 5 lakh tickets worth 17 crore, breaking Pathaan's record in pre-booking.
