Sega Bass Fishing

In fairness to the makers of Sega Bass Fishing, I somehow doubt that it was meant to be playable, as such; certainly not for any great length of time. It feels more like a demo to show off the graphical capabilities of the Dreamcast, much as Wii Sports is a demonstration of the capabilities of the Wii's wireless motion controller. If that's the case then yeah, sure, it does a decent enough job of showing off what the hardware can do compared to the competitors that existed at the time. That said, this is literally the most boring thing it's possible to do with a games console. I mean, fishing? Seriously? Even the people that go fishing don't enjoy the actual fishing part, do they? They enjoy the beer and the company (or the solitude) and being outdoors and being able to show off to other people what they've caught, and probably eating their catch afterwards if they're not throwing them back. The only aspects of fishing this game captures are the worst ones - the waiting and the frustration. It'd be like a Hang-On or Road Rash spin-off that only let you tune up the bike before the race. Just a terrible idea for a game on every level.
