The 184T designed by Luigi Marmiroli (Technical Director) and Mario Tollentino (Chief Designer) and powered by 1,5-litre Alfa Romeo V8 turbocharged engine, was used by the Alfa Romeo team during the 1984 and 1985 Formula One seasons. Italian Riccardo Patrese and Italian-American Eddie Cheever drove both seasons for Benetton-sponsored team. In 1984 Patrese scored 3rd place at his home Grand Prix at Monza. Cheever’s best of the season was 4th place in the season opening Brazilian Grand prix, his only point scoring finish of the year.
